If it is your first visit please come in about 5 minutes early so
that you can fill out a brief medical history form. Safeguard yourself
and assist our therapists by discussing any physical limitations
you may have and/or medications you are currently taking.
First time receivers of massage are often a little apprehensive.
Here are some things you might like to know.
Yes, many people remove all of their clothing to receive massage.
This is certainly not required- undress to your level of comfort-
but keep in mind that a comfortable blanket is always draped over
your body and folded back to reveal the muscle groups to be massaged.
This is all done in a cozy, professional environment enhanced by
little details such as soft lighting, soothing music, fountains,
and candles.

Don't hesitate to communicate. Tell us what you like or don't like.
Is there too much or too little pressure from the therapist? Is
that muscle really sore? Is the room too hot or too cool? Tell us
what we can do to make you more comfortable and we will gladly do
our best to accommodate.

After your massage try to drink at least 4 - 8oz glasses over the
course of the day. Be good to yourself! Take a warm bath! Do the
stretches that your therapist recommends. If your muscles are tight
and you receive deeper therapeutic work you could be a little sore
the next day. It will help you to stretch the muscle groups that
were worked in the massage.
All of our massage therapists are certified health care professionals,
regulated by the Virginia State Nursing Board.
